Organic Agriculture
La Ferme des Verveines adheres to the Specifications for Organic Agriculture certified by the independent organization: Ecocert.
This method of production and processing is respectful of the environment, animal welfare and biodiversity.
The farm excludes the use of synthetic chemicals, GMOs and chemical inputs.
The cheeses contain no flavour enhancers, colourings or synthetic chemical flavourings, and the ferments used in production are guaranteed GMO-free
La Ferme des Verveines is the only farm to offer organic farmhouse Fourme d'Ambert.
Traditional Speciality Guaranteed
La Ferme des Verveines adheres to the Label specifications - Hay milk and sheep hay milk - recognized as a Specialty Tradition Guaranteed (STG),
European recognition of virtuous practices for the environment, milk quality and product quality.
Hay milk production is the original form of milk production. The animals receive a diet that respects their ruminant nature,
favoring pasture and dry fodder following the course of nature and the seasons. The total absence of fermented products in animal feed
allows high quality cheese processing.
La Ferme des Verveines is the only farm to offer STG hay milk certified Fourme d'Ambert.
Protected Designation of Origin
Auvergne cheese, la Fourme d'Ambert, benefits from a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) , which ensures the geographical origin of the cheese.
The cheese is controlled from its manufacturing to its ripening by the Defense and Management Organization of the AOP Fourme d'Ambert.
La Ferme des Verveines is the only farm to offer Fourme d'Ambert made from raw milk from Ferrandaise cows.
